From December 9th to 11th, 2016, the "International Conference on MULTIPHYSICS " was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Security and Protection of Beijing Institute of Technology, and held in Beijing. Prof. Xiaofeng Wang, deputy head of the Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor Changgen Feng, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and former vice chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, Professor Pengwan Chen, dean of the School of Mechatronical Engineering, and Wei Wang, CCP party secretary and other experts and scholars from home and abroad attended the conference.

Xiaofeng Wang, vice president of the Beijing Institute of Technology, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Professor Cheng Wang, director of the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology hosted the opening ceremony.

This conference is one of academic conferences sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology. It is an important international conference in the field of motion and its effects. The conference invited a total of 24 well-known experts and scholars such as Prof. Zuyu Chen, Academician Fengjun Zhou, a member of the Nobel Prize Selection Committee and Prof. Liberman from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden to give a wonderful lecture. These talks focused on the emergence and transmission of strong dynamic loads in recent years in the world, dynamic mechanical behavior of complex media and structures, and constitutive theory, and high-precision numerical simulation of explosion and impact problems.

More than 120 experts and scholars from United States, Sweden, Canada, Australia, China and other countries and regions participated in the conference. After the meeting, foreign experts and scholars visited some laboratories of the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology and highly evaluated the research conditions and achievements of the laboratory. The conference was supported by the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Beijing Institute of Technology, the School of Mechatronical Engineering, the School of Aerospace, and the School of Materials, and achieved a great success.
